Let's compare the setup processes of the Insteon LampLinc Dimmer (#2456D3) and the dimmable X10 Lamp Module...
With the Insteon LampLinc Dimmer, you have to plug the module in, then pick the controller you want to use to control it and program that. Hold down a button for 10 seconds until the LED light blinks. You then have a four-minute time limit to complete the rest of the process, or you will have to start over again. Got that? Okay, now go back to the LampLinc and hold the side button down on that for three seconds until you get a blinking LED light to confirm. Now check everything. Working? We sure hope so, because you wouldn't want to have to go through that process again. Oh, and here's the kicker - you have to do this for every remote or controller you want to use to control your Insteon LampLinc.
Okay, now to our Lamp Module. Plug it in. You're done!
That sure was simple! Our comes preprogrammed out of the box. Use any of our remotes, controllers or software to control it, no programming necessary!
